Merry Christmas! I miss you all so much.
We leave tomorrow morning at 4am to Fly to PNG! I am so excited, thank you for being willing to pray for our team and supporting me, I can’t do this with out you being apart of it. Hopefully we will make a big impact and be a wonderful tool for Jesus to show his love and healing power.
Pray that we can get over the boarder to Indonesia and the rest of are money comes so we will have enough money to stay the 2 months in Indonesia. Also for health and safety for are team.
I will try to write if I have Internet otherwise I will talk to you in February, sharing lots of stories of God’s goodness.

Selamat Siang (Good Day!)
Wow, Christmas in 7 days; that means I leave to PNG in 8 days!
I hope everyone is enjoying hot cocoa by the fire, while I am celebrating this season with 90% humidity and about 80 kids running around, enjoying a summer camp the school puts on every year. It is a crazy but wonderful time. I get the privilege of watching so many youth come to understand the love of God and how they can hear his voice.
Also, all the churches in the area, including us, put on a huge reenactment festival by the water, called Stable on the Strand. The whole city comes and they hear the Story of Jesus and what the true gift of Christmas is all about; this year I am a caretaker for the animals!
I just finished the last bit of my study. Last week I got to stick one of my classmates with a needle and I also learned how to give out medication and vaccinations properly. I still feel a bit nervous about our mission trip but I know God will fill in the gaps where my brain has failed me. I get more and more excited about how we get to be a part of impacting a Muslim village with healing and compassion. God has blessed this trip so much already with mosquito testing kits (so we can treat malaria), top of the line wound care and toothbrushes to pass out to all the kids! The village is also getting so excited that we are coming to help; they keep contacting us saying how excited they are. I can’t wait to meet them. Hopefully I am able to put together a good video to tell the story of this trip, so I can share it with you.
I do have an urgent prayer request…
I am still short the money to pay for the mission trip, about $1154 AUS. I was able to finally buy my plane ticket today so I could join the team on the plane. But, the rest is for food, housing and transportation to get to the villages. Also, we buy all the medication and vaccinations to treat the villages we see.
It is Christmas, so I understand the craziness of the holiday. Think of it this way: if you donate even $10, you will be sending a healthcare worker to a child that is sick, providing medicine and a toothbrush! A child who otherwise would have never been able to get help. I feel like God really wants to bless these people in Irian Jaya by showing them they are important and loved, But he needs people to do this.
Please pray for our team and if you can, give. The need is great since we fly out in 8 days (dec 26th). But if you are unable or have already given, prayer is more powerful than money! I believe God will provide a way. And if I haven’t said it enough, I am so grateful to all of you for praying and reading and just being a part of this. Terima kasih (Thank you).

Class In the Rain Forest!
Wow it has been a while, sorry about that friends.
A lot has happened this month!
We studied Anatomy and the teacher decided the best way to learn was hands on. So I found myself dissecting a sheep’s heart and liver. I was fine until, one of the boys on the team decided to squeeze the heart between his fingers, I became the palest shade of white and almost hit the floor.
There were also two ladies that came in to speak on leprosy; both of them had lived in India for over 7 years. As they shared we learned that there is so much injustice in India because of their belief systems about the poor and sick. It is thought that having Leprosy is punishment for something they did in there past life, the gods cursed them. It breaks my heart to hear such a lie in a culture. (And I know the places we are going struggle with the is similar outlook on Aids.) Leprosy is also not that contagions if you are a healthy person and the dieses can be cured, a lot of the time people are to afraid to touch them when it shouldn’t be the case. One of the ladies shared a bit of her storey, as tears came rolling down my eyes, she told us her husband and 2 sons were burned alive because of there faith in Jesus and the work at the Leprosy hospital. She also, publicly on TV, spoke forgiveness to the killers, that are still unknown. If that doesn’t speak of the power of Jesus I don’t know what does.
Then, to top of the month are team had a week of teaching in a tropical rain forest! We studied eyes and nose next to a waterfall. And on Thanks Giving I was praying in the trees and a wild turkey came running past me, I laughed so hard, how ironic is that moment. I know God has a sense of hummer. I was also able to learn how to waive coconut leaves together to make baskets from my Tongan friend named Isaiah; naturally I made it into a purse and used it all week. I could defiantly live in the rain forest for a long time along as I had the waterfall, are bucket shower was a challenge but fun.
I have a wonderful update: over 700$ has come in for Outreach! I will know the full amount soon (thank you Jesus! and to those of you that give and for your prayers)
Thank you for praying for are leader as well, God has healed her and threw this she is getting to talk with a specialist that will help us find good medication to treat the people in Papa New Guinea and Irian Jaya, were she contracted malaria.
Random Fact: To loosen wax or other foreign objects from your ear use warm cooking oil then, a few min. later flush it with warm water.
