Back To Palm Island..

Imagine hopping on a plane no bigger than a 6 seater. The door shuts behind you and you realize you are the only light skinned foreigner The engine starts and the hole plane starts to rattle. LIFT OFF! your off the ground and blue-green water is below you and island after island, you feel as thought you are flying in a tropical post card! 15 mins later you see this small , very SMALL strip of land the some-what resembles a landing strip. Turbulence hits the plane threw the hills and you hit the ground.

I got off the plain being greeted by a familiar face and her 2 beautiful boys. Lindsey (Old DTS friend) has started a youth ministry, something God spook about a year ago, to keep the kids out of trouble and love on them with the love of Jesus. I was able to serve dinner and play ball with 24 familiar faces that have grown a bit taller since last summer. I was able to pray with some of the most amazing Island worriers.
I always fall in love with this Place. For those of you that have never heard of Palm, It use to be a place were "criminals "( not really) "Hafe -casts" (white and black) there also use to be a leprosy colony just across the water and people were not considered valued to the rest of Australia , 40 different tribes live here not native to western living but forced by many.
They a beautiful warriors and God is restoring these beautiful Island people.

First Day of Class!

Because of jet lag I am now finely a morning person ( but promptly not for long). We had are first day of lectures and are school leader spoke about Gods heart for heath care in the Bible (there are so many scriptures) and then explained the background behind Primary Health and how it started. Did you know that it was started with the intention of bridging the gap between wealthy communities and the poor, to help basic needs at low cost or no cost. I also found that 7 out of the most deathly killers in poor communities, we can actually heal or prevent with basic help! It gives me hope when I hear about all the death tolls and sickness percentages around the world.

There is just something about this place, I feel like I am sitting on Jesus lap just waiting for the next thing he wants to say and taking it all in.

Random Fact: Head lice dislike the smell of Lavender.

Dear Friends, I am thinking up creative ways to raise money to go back to Australia to take a school called Primary Health Care School. I will be going into poor areas teaching heath care to cut down diseases / death, also treating them and being the love of Jesus with my hands. It is costly to go overseas and I will be gone for at lest 6 months. So, I am offering to sell artwork, doing custom paintings and sketches. If you like what I do and want to support me lets talk and ma bey I can create something customarily beautiful for you and you will be apart of something much bigger than me or you....the work of Jesus. I leave in September of 2007 , so contact me soon!
