Soy Latte

I caught myself in a predicament today. I had scheduled a meeting to sign papers on an apartment that I can’t afford (but I knew I was support to move in to) and I only had 320$ in the bank and need 875$ by 1pm the next day. So, I started looking at my options: talk to the manger and see if I could give her the money on the 1st (in a few days) and hope that I some how come up with the money by then. Or go to Money Tree and get a loan on my income tax refund, that was coming but a month to late, and pay 85 $ for the loan…grr.

I prayed because I wanted to do the right thing and I knew the apartment was a God thing. I barley heard Him say,"Wait”, But the voice felt so faint because I couldn’t see how I was going to come up with the money. So,un-faithfully I waited.

Later that afternoon, a guy from Progressive Auto Insurance came by to talk to my friend and me. (I got rear-ended the week I got back from Australia and had been seeing a chiropractor for whiplash) After talking with us about the damage, he hands me a check for 700$ and says hey will pay for the chiropractor too.

God came threw, in the most creative way! I never saw it coming from that angle.
But it gets better, I went to the bank to cash the check and the lady at the bank said she was going to have to put a hold on the check. “Crap!” Because it was hand written and for a large amount. I told her the reason I need the money and if she could call my branch and talk to them, for a character reference. She cleared the check and gave me the exact amount for the apartment 875$ in cash. The laid at the bank strongly urged me not to pay cash for the apartment. So, I went to Safeway to get a money order, but there was another problem. I only had exact cash for the money order and not the 1.78$ fee. The teller was very helpful thought, she said if I had my debt card we could just pull out 5$ and I wouldn’t have to buy anything.

So there I was with a money order for the exact amount and 3.10 $ + some pennies in my hand. We all have are normal drinks at Starbucks, mine on a “spoil me day” is a Soy Latte and on a “your broke day” is a Americano. I walk in to Starbucks and hoped that I would have enough for a Soy Latte to celebrate and I had just enough 3.10$!

Now I know that some of you are thinking this is just chance or random circumstances. But I know that My Father in knows me so intimately that He knew I would want a Soy Latte.

I am so glad we have a God that chose to be involved in are lives
and not absent. How hopeless would it be to live in a world like that or a state of mind? I asked Him why He keeps coming threw for me, even though I have very little faith in Him at times. He said in that same voice in my head, “Because you are learning to trust me”.
